Frequently asked questions

Is Texas License Prep affiliated with TDLR or PSI?

No. We are an independent study resource and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or PSI Services.

Are these the real exam questions?

No. Every question is original, written from the official PSI exam outline and the public statutes, rules and appraisal references the exam is based on. Real exam questions are confidential and we never use them.

What does the Property Tax Consultant exam cover?

According to the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin (revised January 14, 2026), the exam has 50 scored questions: 26 on appraisal, 2 on TDLR laws and rules, and 22 spread across 13 Texas Property Tax Code chapters. You need 70% to pass.

Which version of the Tax Code do the questions use?

The 2025 Texas Property Tax Code, which PSI says the exams reference starting April 1, 2026. Law questions are checked against the Comptroller's 2025 edition.

Does this count toward the 40 hours of required education?

No. Texas Property Tax Consultant registration requires 40 classroom hours from TDLR-approved courses. This is a practice and review tool to use alongside that education, not a replacement for it.

How long do I have access, and on how many devices?

Access lasts 12 months from purchase and works on up to 3 devices (phone, tablet or computer). Your progress follows your access key from device to device.

Can I get a refund?

All sales are final because access is delivered immediately. Please try the free 10-question sample first so you know exactly what you're getting. See the Refund Policy for the limited exceptions.

Will it help with the Senior Property Tax Consultant exam?

The senior exam covers the same subject areas with 100 scored questions, so the material overlaps. Our timed exams are built to the 50-question Property Tax Consultant outline.
